Here is why this list exists.
Every US state arts council in the country is listed here. One per state, all 50 states, Washington DC, and US territories. Find your state agency, confirm eligibility, and apply for funding directly.
That is a mistake.
Your state arts council is often the most accessible funding you will ever find. The application is designed for artists like you. The eligibility criteria match where you live and what you do. The reviewers know your region. And because most artists ignore state funding in favor of the famous national foundations, the competition pool is smaller than you think.
I built this directory because I spent years watching talented artists overlook the money sitting closest to them. They chased the Guggenheim while missing the grant their own state was offering every year with no application fee and a genuine mandate to fund individual artists.
This list covers all 50 states, Washington DC, and US territories. Every link goes directly to the official agency website. No intermediaries. No aggregators.
Find your state. Bookmark the page. Then subscribe to their newsletter and set a Google Alert for their name. That is how you stay in the loop.
The funding is there. Go and get it.
May yours last forever.
